letters from granny- p.s. i love you

i got the most beautiful letter today from my grandma. the only grandparent i have left. she is 87 and wrote pages full about her life as a little girl and stories my mom has never even heard her speak of. writing letters to my grandma is opening my eyes to how little i know of my own mother.

mother's are such treasure chests full of secrets- of many lives lived. i know my mother has lived extraordinary lives. i am so blessed to have a mother who shares her life stories with me. anything i ask her, she will share.

i am learning my grandmother is perhaps the same. i cherish this time i have with her, even if only through the written word.

** and to think not too long ago i disliked my middle name because i thought it was very dated. how foolish could i have been? my middle name is even more beautiful than my first, for it is the name of the woman who gave birth to the woman who bore me. my middle name alone possesses much history- many lives.
