on the astonishing light-
because it's so important to acknowledge the people God puts in your life to help you do a bit better. in my case, i've been blessed abundantly with the gift of friendship. my dear sweet friend, Geoff, i have mentioned him multiple times during my year of goodbye...
well, he is my angel. quite possibly one of the most precious of said friendships. his words: we light the world up when we are together.. no geoff, everything's just brighter when you're near. you light up the world.
i've been teaching one of my flatmates ballet. it's true, it always rains here in england. but i think i am discovering the trick: one must learn to find the rain beautiful to keep from getting depressed. so in an attempt to seeing the beauty, i have taken to jumping over puddles with jordan. he laughed at first, but when i explained the mechanics of a grand jeté and then showed him, suddenly this sparked something from within and now there isn't a puddle in which jordan doesn't leap over. it's great.
though it's dreary outside, the cloud that's been following me is now passing...i'm returning.
with thanks to him, my light.
"I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being."
-Hafiz of Shiraz
