Tea time, always a lovely time...
it all started with a conversation about the importance of tea. the simplicity of the cup, and even more, the meaning underneath the ritual. what it means to sit in agreeable company, with tea in hand and warmth in heart. it's not so much what is in the cup that makes the time special, but the time in itself; uninterrupted, untainted, simple...beautiful.
all of said attributes of such a time were present as my flatmate and i hosted our first bi-monthly tea time yesterday, thursday evening at eight-thirty. it was a simple time, a lovely time.
a classy time...
the flavours of the evening were earl grey creme & leche peach.
no tea party is complete without pretty decor
to say we enjoyed hosting the classy party would be an understatement.
some of our guests. so thankful for their open minds, and smiles! thanks for making our first tea time memorable. just lovely!
“When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things. Where is beauty to be found? In great things that, like everything else, are doomed to die, or in small things that aspire to nothing, yet know how to set a jewel of infinity in a single moment?”
