on locked doors-

no one warns you of the dangers of vulnerability.
instead, they tell you it's good, it's necessary for survival, for optimal health.

experience has taught me locked doors protect sacred things and only the brave deserve the fair; a willingness to finish the journey is the distinguishing factor. the weak begin a journey and give up when winds change. the brave see changing winds as a cue to fight harder. i have encountered far too many weak men in my lifetime.

i will tell my girls to be locked doors. to hide fiercely their vulnerable heart. give not even a piece lest nothing remain for the one. the brave. he who deserves you, the fair.

i will warn my girls: be a locked door, you are sacred.

i will warn them because no one warned me.
