on another farewell-
for the first time in this year of goodbye, i am going... it rained, actually rain is an understatement- it was my wish that it would be bright and blue. as friends and family trickled into my home in bunches throughout the evening, i was so overwhelmed by all of the love and prayers. to have such wonderful words said about you, and to truly know you are seen- wow, i can only praise my heavenly father for all that He has done. my mama, she is something special. the food was a taste of europe and the thought behind everything left me speechless. i am so very thankful for my parents, and brother. my time has come, after much anticipation, and needless to say, i am more than ready. i am ready to learn, and grow, and love on my european friends whom my heart broke as i said farewell. i am ready to meet new extraordinary souls.
its been five years since i've seen emily. it was such a surprise to find that her beautiful family relocated back to n.c. we were the best of friends, and to have her back when i return is such a cherished gift from above. i'm trying to convince her to study at my university this spring.. *fingers crossed
a reunion all around it was, seeing my beautiful baby cousins who are now all grown up! we've been through it all. so many amazing memories shared amongst the three of us. it is my prayer they continue to grow into Godly women as they begin to enter into their college years... suddenly i feel old.
kels, my girl. words cannot contain how thankful i am for her in my life. she is so much of what i hope to be, such a precious spirit. so absolutely true. it was our final goodbye until december when she flys into europe for the holidays. i am so excited for her last semester at university; it is my hope you experience it all, kels. never hesitate, and know that there are far greater things ahead than any you leave behind. i adore you so, my kindred.
as it is said, some things must end for new beginnings to arise. i don't know what lies ahead, or that which God has in store for me across the pond, but i outstretch my arms and promise to step off that plane into the old continent with open palms faced upward. where you send me, Abba I will go. put the words in my mouth, and i will speak them. for the title "study abroad" is merely the guise you have me under; i am truly there on a great commission. humbly i go as your soldier, to a land that needs your love and truth ever so profoundly. may i be of use in the advancement of your kingdom.
here's to the future! and may all of life's happening's continue to take our breath away! x
